３月７日緊急院内集会に、海外から連帯メッセージが届いたので、４回にわけて紹介します。
その１は、2000年女性国際戦犯法廷の首席検事だったウスティニア・ドルゴポルさん、同じく主催者代表の一人だったインダイ・サホールさんです。原文と日本語訳を紹介します。ぜひお読み下さい。

It is astounding that in the 21st century members of the Japanese government and its national broadcaster do not understand the connection between their statements on the Comfort Women and the global push to improve the position of women. The type of statements being made are an affront to women’s dignity and undermine the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council on the need to eliminate violence against women in times of armed conflict. As a modern democracy with aspirations to be viewed as a global leader Japan should be supporting the work of the United Nations rather than engaging in behaviour that would suggest it supports the type of activities that have been repeatedly condemned by the Human Rights Council and the International Criminal Court.

【訳】この21世紀に、日本の政府や全国規模の公共放送のメンバーが、「慰安婦」に関する自分たちの発言と、女性の立場を改善しようという世界の強い流れとの関係を、理解せずにいるとは驚きです。今なされているあのような発言はどれも、女性の尊厳に対する侮辱であり、武力紛争時における女性に対する暴力を根絶する必要を呼びかけた、いくつもの国連安保理決議を、足元から掘り崩すものです。地球的なリーダーと目されたいという大志を抱く現代の民主主義体制として、日本は、国連の仕事を支援こそすべきなのであって、国連人権理事会や国際刑事裁判所が繰り返し非難してきたものと同類の活動を、支持している、と見られてしまうような言動をとっている場合ではありません。
